Warren Buffett says Congress has been billionaire friendly Long Enough

Billionaire tycoon Warren Buffett has called for Congress to get “serious” about America’s debt problems and has said the country’s richest should not be spared.

Buffett said, “My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress.”

Nintendo Drops 3DS price to 169.99

Nintendo just announced that the Nintendo 3DS will drop to $169.99, starting on August 12. That’s 80 bucks cheaper than the previous MSRP of $249.99, and one helluva indication of how well the system is doing. 800,000 people have picked up a system but that’s nowhere near what they were hoping for.

“For anyone who was on the fence about buying a Nintendo 3DS, this is a huge motivation to buy now,” said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime in a press release. “We are giving shoppers every incentive to pick up a Nintendo 3DS, from an amazing new price to a rapid-fire succession of great games.” Read the rest of this entry

Netflix increases prices for DVD+streaming plans by 60%

As reported by the Washington Post: Netflix on Tuesday announced price changes that add about $6 to the monthly bills of subscribers for unlimited streaming video and DVD rentals.

Juror says Casey Anthony did not get away with Murder

Alternate juror Russell Huekler and lead prosecutor Jeff Ashton spoke out about the shocking not guilty verdict reached by the jury in the Casey Anthony murder case on Wednesday.

Although Huekler did not deliberate in the case, he did sit through the entire trial and told Matt Lauer on NBC’s Today that he “wholeheartedly” agreed with the decision reached on Tuesday.

Supreme Court rules in favor of videogame free-speech

The government cannot ban the sale or rental of violent video games to minors as this would violate free-speech rights, the Supreme Court said on Monday in its first ruling in a video game case.

By a 7-2 vote, the high court struck down a California law, which also imposed strict video game labeling requirements, as unconstitutional. It said video games, like books, plays and movies, deserve free-speech protection. Read the rest of this entry

The Westboro Baptists Church has announced plans to picket the funeral of Jackass star Ryan Dunn.

The Westboro Baptist Church has gained infamy for picketing the funerals of military families, trade shows and conventions with offensive signs such as “Thank God for Dead Soldiers” “God Hates Nerds” & “God Hates America” etc… The church has very abscure beliefs when it comes to a lot of modern cultural topics.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Beta finally coming.

Ubisoft still plans to hold a multiplayer beta for their oft-delayed shooter Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Today they revealed that testing will begin this winter. “We know you have been asking about the beta. We’re excited to announce that the MP beta will be launching in January 2012!” tweeted Ubisoft.

The beta is exclusive to the Xbox 360. To gain access, U.S. gamers will need to pre-order the game through GameStop. Owners of the 360 version of Splinter Cell: Conviction will also receive access via the game disc. Read the rest of this entry

Duggar Family Partners with Bible Translators to help Kids Learn the Bible

The Duggar family, featured on TLC’s hit reality TV show 19 Kids and Counting, has started a new partnership with the fastest growing Bible translation organization in the world. The Seed Company, founded by Wycliffe Bible Translators, announced Wednesday the partnership with the family, in which they will work together to teach families and children the story of the Bible with the goal of spreading God’s word around the world.
